For any actor and for anyone who wants to be an actor or learn acting in depth, it is essential to practice Chekhov’s plays. Anton Pavlovich Chekhov is one of the founders of the new line in the theater, who promoted innovative stage rules and the rise of a new theatrical system.
In this course, we will analyze and rehearse scenes from Chekhov’s iconic play The Seagull. Each participant can choose one or more scenes we published on the Site in the Dramatic Texts section. Scene rehearsals will deepen knowledge and skills in the construction of stage characters. The Action analysis of the scenes will examine the preceding circumstances, events, and facts, the relationships between characters, and their physical and psychological traits.
The first part of the course will be “table” rehearsals. We will clarify what the action of each character is, and what its purpose is. What are the conflicts in the scene? The second part of the course is stage movement and transformation into the stage characters.
